Surrounded by the Selkirk Mountains in British Columbia's Southern Interior, Nelson (once known as the Queen of the Kootenays) still maintains a regal presence with hundreds of heritage buildings dating back to her glory days in the 1800's.
Today's Nelson boasts approximately 10 000 inhabitants with Arts and Culture, Music and good restaurants adding to the charm of this historical little city on the West Arm of Kootenay Lake.

This is our third such camp for intrepid knitters.

Expect a warm Tancook welcome and enjoy the rugged beauty of this remote island full of peace and quiet that scarcely can be imagined in our modern world. You may even find the volume of bird song and sounds of the waves rather intrusive on occasion!

Join Lucy and Judy on a Northern Knitting Adventure in Manitoba, Canada!

Be prepared for the Adventure of a lifetime!
Adventure Knitting 2015 will take us from city centre Winnipeg to northern outpost Churchill, from private air-conditioned coach to Tundra Buggy, from high-rise to prefab, knitting all the way. Our activities will be as varied as our destinations and entirely weather dependent. Take advantage of all the opportunities that such diverse locations have to offer!

Knitters and friends joined Lucy for her second "Knitting On the Wild Side" Camp in September 2014!

Lucy's second camp for intrepid knitters on Big Tancook Island was another stellar success!
Knitters from all across North America joined Lucy for a week of knitting, classes, companionship and incredible tranquility.

They were treated to a warm Tancook welcome and had time to explore the rugged beauty of this remote island full of peace and quiet that scarcely can be imagined in our modern world.

September 13 to 20, 2013: Adventure Knitting in Quebec

We toured Quebec's Iles de la Madeleine

Our highschool French certainly came in handy during our visit to the Iles de la Madeleine (Magdalen Islands)! We cruised and knitted our way along the St. Lawrence River in Quebec for five days this past September!
We were treated to
Nightly onboard entertainment, featuring Acadian music and Storytellers,
Knitting Classes with a focus on Double Knitting Techniques
Field Trips exploring the Magdalen Islands
Wildlife sightings.

September 15 to 21, 2012: Knitting on the Wild Side

We went to Big Tancook Island, one of Nova Scotia's Best-kept Secrets!

We went to Big Tancook Island, Nova Scotia, for a week of knitting, classes, companionship and incredible tranquility. This experimental camp was a huge success and I'm looking forward to expanding on it in years to come.

July 31 - August 7th, 2011: Yukon Adventure Knitting

We went to beautiful Whitehorse in the Canadian Yukon for our 2011 Adventure Knitting Camp.
